Sourced from the inner bark of Cinnamomum verum cultivated in Sri Lanka, this essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of carefully dried bark strips. Its composition is dominated by cinnamaldehyde, which gives it its characteristic warm and intensely spicy profile. The opening is powerful, sweet, and highly diffusive, immediately commanding attention with its rich warmth. Its structure is relatively linear but persistent, evolving into a deep, almost balsamic spiciness. Due to its strength, it is used in minimal concentrations. In perfumery, cinnamon bark functions as a spice amplifier, adding warmth, intensity, and projection to oriental, gourmand, and amber accords while enhancing depth and richness.
