Where the World Met the Heart of Indian Sandalwood
The air in Hall 4 was unmistakably different. Beneath the buzz of industry conversation and the hum of a packed exhibition floor, there was something older and more elemental — the warm, creamy, sacred scent of Indian sandalwood. That scent had a source: Aurashine Essentials, proud Power Sponsor of the Essential Oil Association of India (EOAI) Exhibition, held March 16-18th, 2026 in Mumbai.
For the Aurashine team, this event was more than a trade showcase. It was a homecoming. Mumbai is our city — the place where our story began — and hosting partners, customers, and industry peers on familiar ground gave the entire experience a personal warmth that no boardroom meeting or video call can replicate.
The Aurashine Booth: A Sandalwood Bazaar Unlike Any Other
From the moment visitors stepped into the Aurashine space, it was clear this was not a conventional exhibition booth. Designed to evoke the sensory richness of a traditional Indian bazaar, our display brought the full world of sandalwood to life — from ancient forest to modern formulation.
At the heart of the booth was our Sandalwood Bazaar, a curated, hands-on showcase of our hero product range and its raw origins. Visitors were invited to see, touch, and experience sandalwood in its many forms:
- Sandalwood Logs — the raw, unprocessed heart of our supply chain, giving attendees a tangible connection to the source
- Sandalwood Spent Wood — the post-distillation material that continues to find purpose in incense, sachets, and ritual applications
- Heartwood Chips — prized for their high oil content, used extensively in personal care, Ayurveda, and premium fragrance
- Sandalwood Heartwood Powder — a versatile ingredient widely incorporated into skincare formulations, face masks, and luxury cosmetic preparations
- Agarwood Spent —The wood remaining after the steam distillation of oud oil — still richly fragrant and full of character. Widely used in incense blends, bakhoor formulations, and traditional smoke-based rituals. A sustainable, value-forward material that honours every part of the agarwood tree.
- Agarwood Chips — Rare, resin-saturated chips of Aquilaria heartwood — the source of one of the world’s most prized aromatic materials. Burn directly as incense for a deep, smoky, balsamic fragrance.
Each product station came with information on its applications across industries — from fine fragrance and aromatherapy to Ayurvedic medicine, cosmetics, and spiritual products. For many visitors, this was their first opportunity to engage with sandalwood & agarwood as a raw material rather than a finished ingredient, and the response was extraordinary.
“We did not just want people to see our products. We wanted them to understand where sandalwood comes from, why it matters, and why quality and traceability are everything.”
From Plantation to Bottle: The Living Model
One of the most talked-about features of our booth was a live, working miniature model of the Aurashine sandalwood manufacturing process — a complete end-to-end journey from plantation to distilled oil, scaled down and made visible for the first time.
The model walked visitors through every critical stage: the cultivation of Santalum trees, the careful harvesting of heartwood at the right maturity, the chipping and preparation of raw material, and finally the steam distillation process that yields our pure sandalwood essential oil. Seeing the entire value chain in motion — compact enough to fit in a display, yet detailed enough to educate — created genuine moments of discovery even among the most seasoned industry professionals.
This model was not merely decorative. It reflected Aurashine’s core belief that the best products come from a supply chain that is fully understood, responsibly managed, and transparently communicated to the market.
Our Newest Chapter: The Kununurra Plantation, Australia
Amongst the many conversations sparked at the booth, few generated as much interest as the announcement of Aurashine’s newly acquired sandalwood plantation in Kununurra, Western Australia.
Kununurra sits in the East Kimberley region — a landscape whose climate and soil conditions are considered among the finest in the world for cultivating Santalum spicatum and Santalum album. This strategic acquisition positions Aurashine with a long-term, traceable, and sustainably managed source of premium sandalwood, reinforcing our commitment to supply chain integrity and responsible sourcing.
The plantation marks a significant milestone in Aurashine’s global expansion strategy. As demand for certified, traceable sandalwood grows across the world’s leading fragrance houses, cosmetic brands, and wellness companies, having direct ownership of a producing plantation ensures that we can guarantee both quality and continuity for our customers worldwide.
Global Partners, Local Conversations: Lechque & AromaSeed
One of the most valuable dimensions of our EOAI presence was the opportunity to bring our global ingredient partners directly into the Indian market conversation. Two of Aurashine’s key international collaborators, Lechque and AromaSeed, were present at our booth to engage with Indian buyers, formulators, and industry professionals.
Anthony and Celine from AromaSeed, our France-based raw material trading and production partner with operations in Paraguay, showcased their range of sustainably sourced essential oils including guaiacwood, petitgrain, and cabreuva — ingredients that pair beautifully with sandalwood in fragrance creation and aromatherapy. Their presence underlined the growing global relevance of South American naturals in the Indian formulation space.
Lechque brought their own portfolio of rose oil & their derivatives to the conversation, opening direct dialogue with Indian buyers about formulation possibilities, pricing, and supply reliability. The booth became a natural meeting point for introductions, samples, and substantive technical conversations — exactly the kind of productive exchange that great exhibitions make possible.
Having our partners physically present alongside the Aurashine team created a genuinely collaborative atmosphere and offered visitors a rare, consolidated view of the global natural ingredients supply chain.
Perhaps the single most significant moment of our EOAI participation came during the conference programme, when Aurashine’s General Manager, Anubhav Satapathy, delivered his inaugural public address at the technical session.
Speaking on the topic Sandalwood Beyond Supply: Sustainability, Traceability & Market Reality, Anubhav offered the audience a frank, informed, and forward-looking perspective on where the global sandalwood trade stands today — and where it must go.
The talk addressed some of the industry’s most pressing questions: the widening gap between supply and demand for true Indian sandalwood, the risk of adulteration and mislabelling in global markets, the role of plantation-grown sandalwood in easing pressure on wild stocks, and what traceability really means in practice — beyond certifications and paper trails.
“Sustainability is not a selling point. It is a responsibility. And traceability is not optional — it is what separates a product the world can trust from one it cannot.”
The response from the audience was immediate and enthusiastic. Anubhav’s willingness to speak plainly about market realities, combined with the depth of Aurashine’s operational knowledge, positioned the company as a trusted, authoritative voice in the sandalwood industry.
Team Aurashine: Behind Every Great Booth, a Greater Team
Exhibitions like EOAI do not happen because of one person, one idea, or one moment of inspiration. They happen because an entire team commits — fully, generously, and without reservation — to making something exceptional.
In the weeks leading up to the event, the Aurashine team worked across every function to bring our booth vision to life. The product team sourced and curated the Bazaar display, ensuring each material told the right story. The design and logistics team built and transported the miniature manufacturing model, solving every practical challenge that arose along the way. The marketing team prepared materials, coordinated partner communications, and made sure our messaging was clear, consistent, and compelling.
On the floor, our team members were present, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic — hosting existing customers with the warmth of old friends and welcoming new visitors with the curiosity of great hosts. They answered complex technical questions, shared samples, coordinated partner introductions, and made every guest feel that visiting the Aurashine booth was time well spent.
To every member of the Aurashine team who contributed to our success at EOAI Mumbai: this was your achievement as much as it was ours collectively. The pride we feel in what we built together — and the conversations it started — is immeasurable.
Home Court Advantage: Hosting the Industry in Mumbai
For our Managing Director, Mr. Bharat Shetty, there is something uniquely meaningful about receiving the industry in your own city. Mumbai has always been the base from which Aurashine has grown — the place where his relationships were formed, our brand was forged, and his ambitions were first articulated. To welcome customers old and new, partners from around the world, and peers from across the industry onto this familiar ground was a privilege that the entire Aurashine management team felt deeply.
The conversations we had at EOAI Mumbai were richer, longer, and more personal than those we have at exhibitions where we are the visitors. Mumbai is generous and energetic in a way that is hard to replicate elsewhere, and that spirit infused every interaction we had over the course of the event.
To our existing customers who made the time to visit us: thank you. Your loyalty and trust are the foundation of everything we build. To the new connections we made: we look forward to what comes next. And to the EOAI for creating a platform that continues to elevate the Indian essential oils and aroma industry — we are honoured to have been your Power Sponsor this year.
Until the next exhibition — the Aurashine team.
